Two brand new one-act plays to be performed this week will be asking what nursery-rhyme characters get up to outside of their tales.
Finedon Church Sunday School Entertainment Society will be presenting Round and Round the Garden and Tiny Mines by Adrian Cale on Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4 at The Star Hall in Finedon.
They will ask what happens to nursery-rhyme characters when they are not searching for sheep, running from spiders or falling down the hills.
It will also ask what fairytale characters do, such as what the seven dwarves were doing before they met Snow White.
The society’s chairman Joe Lawrence said: “The plays have been specially written to showcase the talents of the younger members of our society, giving them the opportunity to broaden their experience.
“A similar project last year was very successful and we hope that as many people as possible will come along and support these young stars of the future.”
Amy Su Armitage is directing the plays added: “The two plays will be presented as a double bill using the same actors in both. So everyone has been busy learning two roles.
“We set ourselves a very tight deadline but rehearsals are going well with lots of laughter. I think we can guarantee anyone who comes along a very entertaining, fun evening. If people fancy a fun evening rediscovering some very famous storybook characters then they should come along. “
Tickets for the show are £5 available at the door before each performance. Doors open at 7pm with curtain up at 7.30pm.
