Ad Parnassum perform a Mozart piece at Finedon prior to a tour of Italy on Saturday.

Bastien & Bastienne was written in 1768 when Mozart was only twelve, making it one of his first operas. It can be heard at St Mary’s Church.

It already shows Mozart’s genius for portraying drama and characterisation in music. Bastien is a parody of the pastoral genre which was very popular at the time, giving the opera its comedy but also exquisite charm. This production will be performed in English.

Tickets are £12 and children can go free.
