This review of the life of Cilla Black soars its way through the 60s. Starring Liverpool born singer Victoria Jones as Cilla, singing songs including You’re My World and Anyone Who Had a Heart while the Shades trio swing through a decade of hits by Cilla’s friends and co-stars.

Judith Gammage, Andrew Howes and Helen Thorman present a concert entitled Songs from the Heart. It will raise funds to help towards the restoration of the church.

Northampton Concert Band. Holy Sepulchre Church, Northampton. March 25.
The program offers a variety of modern and traditional tunes arranged and composed for concert band. There will also be two solos; Cornet Concerto played on cornet and Pre-Good Rag played on clarinet.
The concert will also be raising funds for Marie Curie Nurses.

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke plays the part made famous by Whoopi Goldberg in this musical directed by Craig Revel Horwood. It sees her play Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva who witnesses a crime and is placed in hiding in a convent.

Eunice struggles to fit in. When she joins a wealthy family as their housekeeper the very reason for her awkwardness, long hidden and deeply buried, leads inexorably to a terrible tale of murder in cold blood – on Valentine’s Day. This is a stage adaptation of a Ruth Rendell novel and features an all star cast.

10 The Three Degrees. The Deco Theatre, Northampton. March 29.
Female vocal trio The Three Degrees are headlining The Deco Theatre. The band formed in 1963 in Philadelphia and had hits including When Will I See You Again. Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £23.50.
