Valentine’s jazz festival at the Castle Theatre

The Caste Theatre, 10 Castle Way Wellingborough

A Valentine’s jazz festival takes place at The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough this weekend.

Starting the weekend in style will be Basin St to Basie and Beyond on Friday from 8pm, starring Tad Newton’s Jazzfriends. Their performance also features special guest Alan Barnes on clarinet and sax.

The Hot Club of Cambridge continue the weekend on Saturday, February 16, from 12.30pm with special guest Andy Aitchison. They perform great gypsy jazz in the style of Django Reinhart and Stephane Grappelli.

Richard Exall’s Shooting Stars, featuring members of the Chris Barber Band, will play on Saturday from 8pm.

Closing the festival will be Colin Kingwell’s Jazz Bandits on Sunday at 12.30pm.
