Spine-chilling stories told on Core stage

Grisly Tales from Tumblewater

Grisly Tales from Tumblewater

Spine-chilling stories will be staged in Corby this week when Grisly Tales From Tumblewater makes its way to The Core.

Charles Dickens meets Roald Dahl via Horrible Histories in this festive family show recommended for those aged seven and upwards.

In The Lab theatre space, audiences will be welcomed to Tumblewater where Caspian Prye, the twisted landowner, controls everything and everyone; even the police. And in this land, it never snows in winter.

But into Tumblewater stumbles Daniel Dorey, a fearless orphan armed only with his wits and a host of creepy stories.

The show is said to be full of “laughs, frights and live music,” with one actor bringing a multitude of weird, wonderful and sinister characters to life.

Based on Bruno Vincent’s novel for children, Grisly Tales From Tumblewater took the Edinburgh Festival by storm, with Stephen Fry declaring it: “infectiously, insanely enjoyable.”

The production will run at The Core at Corby Cube from Wednesday, December 12 to Sunday, December 16, with performances at 10.30am and 1.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday, at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 7pm on the Friday and at 1pm and 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets cost £9.50 or £7.50 for concessions. There are special rates for families, groups and schools. For more information or to book, call 01536 470470 or visit www.thecorecorby.com
