A disco inferno will be heading to Northampton’s Royal & Derngate this week when the 1970s musical, Boogie Nights, comes to town.

Featuring an all-star cast, this musical includes a string of much-loved ‘70s hits, such as I Will Survive, Blame It On The Boogie and Le Freak.

Set in a provincial British town at the height of disco fever, Boogie Nights follows the story of bad boy Roddy O’Neil, whose life of booze and boogie-ing is turned upside down.

Shane Richie Junior takes over the role of Roddy, created by his father in the original show.

Following his starring roles in West End classics, such as Les Miserables and Legally Blonde, Gareth Gates will play heart-throb Dean, singing classics including If You Leave Me Now and Disco Inferno.

The show will also include The Osmonds who will perform their own Crazy Horses and their hit, Love Me For A Reason.

Jimmy Osmond first appeared in Boogie Nights in 2004 and he will be joined on stage by his brothers Merrill and Jay.

Also appearing will be former EastEnders star Louisa Lytton as well as X Factor finalist Andy Abraham and Dancing on Ice finalist, Chico. Boogie Nights will come to the Royal & Derngate on Tuesday at 7.30pm with tickets costing £36.50, £33.50 and £30.50. Call 01604 624811.
