The Raunds Music Festival returns in May for its 12th year with a host of award winning musicians and international acts.
The festival will run from May 2 to May 5 and include performances from The Albion Band, Belshazzar’s Feast, Tim Edey, Lucy Ward, The Baghdaddies, Megson, Rob Halligan, Richard Exall’s Shooting Stars, Ock’nDough, David Gibb & Elly Lucas and Tautas Roks.
Festival organiser Bob Fisher: “We are delighted to have such internationally acclaimed musicians as The Baghdaddies at this year’s festival.
“They have been touring the world for 14 years, playing music with Balkan and Middle-Eastern influences alongside Caribbean grooves with a touch of Geordie.
“It promises to be a great bank-holiday weekend and with our recession-busting ticket prices you just can’t go wrong.”
Tim Edey won the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year award and Lucy Ward received the Horizon Award for best newcomer at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
This year the Horizon Award went to Blair Dunlop who plays and sings with The Albion Band.
Alongside the array of musicians, there will be dancing on the square and local children and young people will again compete at the ‘Dance Off’ on the Saturday.
There will be workshops and displays throughout the weekend.
