A members-only gin parlour and cafe has opened its doors in Northampton
The Parlour in St Giles Street promises a quiet place to appreciate gin and be able to have a conversation.
Visitors will also be able to make their own gins and it will offer group taster sessions.
Su Paterson, the proprietor, said: “I want it to have a really special atmosphere, with characters people can meet.
“There’s a doorbell policy and people will be met by a meeter/greeter who will direct them to the bar.
“I will be the Gin Lady. The Gin Master, who is a real expert, will be able to advise people about what they are drinking.”
Six days a week the building will be the Parisian cuisine-inspired C’est la Vie cafe from 8am to 5pm.
On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 11pm it will become The Parlour.
Miss Paterson said: “Gin is a real up-and-coming spirit and I think there’s nothing quite like us in Northampton.”
People will only be allowed into The Parlour if they are a members.
To apply, people have to email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit The Parlour on Facebook
Su Paterson said “We want to make it almost like a Victorian Gentleman’s club, even down to the traditional closing time.”
