James Taylor Quartet back for festive fund-raiser

THE James Taylor Quartet return to Northampton this month for their annual charity fund-raising show.

The band will be helping to raise money for drug and alcohol awareness charity CAN.

The JTQ’s music represents a hybrid of black American groove, soul, jazz and funk from the 1950s through to the 1970s, with references to American film and TV music over the same three decades.

With more than 25 years of relentless gigging, the band’s drive has always been about involving the audience with honest hard grooves, sophisticated soloists and powerful brass, all underpinned and driven by James Taylor’s mighty and battered Hammond.

Support is by Snakeman 3 and there will be a DJ set from Spiral Archive’s Alex Novak.

Both play the Kettering Road venue on Friday, December 21. Doors open at 8pm and admission is £15.
