Award-winning movie competition, Film Northants, has today announced its annual red carpet ceremony will be held at a new venue after agreeing a partnership with the Errol Flynn.
For the past six years the amateur short film competition has held its showpiece event at a multiplex cinema, so finalists can see their work on the big screen.
But after feedback from filmmakers, it will now be held at the more intimate filmhouse setting of the Errol Flynn.
Lily Canter, festival chair, said: “Entrants have really loved seeing their films at Cineworld and every ceremony we’ve had there has been amazing. We can’t thank the staff enough.
“However an increasing number of filmmakers have been telling us that as an independent cinema, the Errol Flynn is a more appropriate place to screen their work as it allows for a more intimate experience and the scope for Q&As, workshops and talks is greater.”
Also new for 2014, the Film Northants ceremony will be held over two nights, with one evening dedicated to the under-16s category. The second evening will see the Judges’ Choice and Public Vote winners announced, as well as the premiere screening of a specially-commissioned feature.
There will also be an out-of-competition section for films of any length, made by Northamptonshire filmmakers in any location.
These films will be screened throughout the year at Errol Flynn Filmhouse.
