Families living in a part of Northamptonshire not affected by the water crisis have been sent cards by Anglian Water telling them to boil their water - but they don't need to.
The company sent out warning cards to postcodes which could be affected by the contamination, but residents in Poppy Fields, Kettering, were sent the cards by mistake.

A spokeswoman for Anglian Water said: "The advice is, if you have received a red card, boil you water.

"There may be some homes in the same areas which are not affected and we will be sending those homes green cards - but until you get one of those, boil your water."

She apologised for the Kettering error, saying there had been some confusion because there is also a Poppyfield Court in Northampton.

"People who live in Poppy Fields in Kettering do not have to boil their water," she said.
