Musicians from across Northamptonshire will be playing in the Big Apple later this month.
Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds (NOW) was formed with only nine members in 2005 but now a 45-strong delegation will perform in New York's Central Park and the famous Carnegie Hall.

In total 75 people – 46 of them musicians – will go on the trip, flying into JFK Airport on March 21.

Andrew Bassey, conductor and musical director for the group, organised the trip with World Projects International Music Productions.

He said: "We have known about it for years but we needed a lot of time to get everything organised. Everyone is very excited."

All the musicians and supporters who are flying out for the trip have paid for themselves but Mr Bassey said nobody minded.

He added: "It is such a good thing for the group.

"Ideally we would do this sort of thing all the time."
