Frantic Assembly's electrifying take on Shakespeare's Othello explodes onto the Royal stage from Tuesday October 7 to October 18.
A black man in a working class northern town, Othello is a bouncer at the local pub.

In a world of broken glass and beatings in the car park, there's tension around the pool table, cues in hand and it is all about to kick off.

Fusing a taut adaptation of the classic text with its trademark hard-hitting choreography, Frantic Assembly takes a scalpel to 21st century Britain, exposing prejudice, danger and fear.

Othello is played by Jimmy Akingbola, seen on TV as Constable Neil Parker on BBC's Holby Blue. No stranger to Northampton, Jimmy was last seen on the Royal stage in Blue/Orange for which he won the 2005 TMA Best Supporting Actor Award.

The evening performances are at 7.45pm and matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tickets are priced from £9 to £25 and can be booked by calling 01604 624811 or at www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
