Wins the medicine for healthy Bones
Rob Dunion is hoping Rothwell Town can start showing an improvement in health on and off the field at Arlesey Town tonight.
The Bones' team coach was more like an ambulance at the weekend with
several players suffering from a bug that has hit the squad in the last week.
Both Tom Mills and Brett Darby never started the defeat at Bury Town while Adam Sturgess only last half-an-hour before going off.
Sturgess will now miss tonight's game at Arlesey Town but Bones boss
Dunion is hopeful both Darby and Mills will return as they look to bounce back to winning ways in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.
And Dunion feels that if they can maintain their level of performance
from the Bury game they should take something tonight.
"I was very pleased with the performance at Bury and although we lost 3-1, I think that scoreline lies a bit as scorelines sometimes do," he said.
"They went two-up early on but we got back into it and for a long time in the second half if anyone was going to score it was us.
"They finally got another with a late breakaway.
"But we proved once again that we can match the top sides in this division."
Arlesey are not one of the top sides and instead are part of the big mid-table pack the Bones are in the lower part of.
But despite the fact tonight's opponents are six places and seven points better off than his side, Dunion feels there is not much between them.
"I think it will be a very even game and it will come down to whoever wants it more will win – and we want it very badly right now," he continued.
"There are a lot of mediocre teams in this league.
"And I admit we've turned in some mediocre performances of our own this year.
"But as the Bury game proved, we can play much better than some of these sides around us and when we get it right, we can beat them.
"I think we should be looking to win tonight.
"And with the games we have in hand on many sides above us we can still push up the table.
"I think we can still win a lot more games yet this season."
