We will have to get on with it, admits Dunion
Rothwell Town boss Rob Dunion has told his side they must just 'get on with it' as their wretched run of form continues.
The Bones went down to a solitary goal at Cecil Street meaning they have suffered defeat in 10 of their last 12 games – and have failed to score in their previous three.
There will be no let-up for Dunion's men as they welcome second-placed Hitchin Town tomorrow night.
But he says there can be no feeling sorry for themselves for his men, insisting they must keep plugging away in order to change their fortunes.
"I think Saturday was just one game too many," said Dunion.
"We have played four games in eight days and you could tell.
"We were very flat and I think the crowd deserved their money back.
"They took the lead through a freak goal which they probably
deserved but the performance in the second half was good.
"But we can't sit around moping. We have got to move and get on with it."
The lack of goals is starting to concern the Rothwell boss ,though.
Striker Jason Turner returned after a three-game absence to boost his side but with no strike in 270 minutes and only one in their last four games, Dunion admits it is something that has got to change.
"We made seven clear-cut chances in the second half but we didn't take them," added Dunion.
"It is beginning to be a problem. We lost a lot of our goal threat when we lost a lot of players when the money went out and we need to start scoring.
"We can score from all areas of the pitch, it is not just the strikers, but we haven't been and we need to."
Confidence is still intact for Dunion and his side, though, and he is expecting a positive performance tomorrow.
"It doesn't matter who we play at the moment, we need to stop this run we are on and I think we will.
"The confidence hasn't gone completely, the lads are still playing with confidence and they will fancy it tomorrow night. Hopefully we can match them for a while, get a goal and give ourselves something to hold on to."
