Virender Sehwag signs for Northamptonshire
Virender Sehwag will join Northamptonshire for this season's Twenty20 Cup campaign.
The county this morning announced they had signed the Indian batsman – who is rated as the number one Test batsman in the world – subject to approval by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Sehwag last year hit the fastest hundred by an Indian batsman in a one-day international when he made 125 not out from just 74 balls.
The 31-year-old has 76 Test match appearances to his name and more than 220 one-day internationals.
Northants Cricket chief executive Mark Tagg said, "This is absolutely fantastic news for the club and shows everyone that we want to continue our year on year improvement.
"Hopefully this shows our fans we are serious in our ambitions to become the best County Cricket Club in the country."
Virender Sehwag added: "I am looking forward to the T20 campaign and I am delighted to have joined the County".
