Malcolm Arnold Owls pulled off a surprise 8-2 victory against DCA Flyers in the Town League premier division.
Hat-tricks from both Nick Howard and Dan Smalley against Guy Sparrow, Phil Snelling and Keith Lucas pushed the team to the big win.
David George did well to beat Sparrow 17-15 in the fifth set, and the doubles also went to the Owls.
Sparrow can be considered unlucky as he lost all three by very narrow margins.
DCA Tigers were fortunate to meet a Kingsley A side with only two players, and managed to salvage a 5-5 draw.
The result helps to keep them above the relegation zone in the premier division table.
Kestutis Ziogas won their only singles event by beating Chris Stone but he then combined with Greg Norden to defeat Stone and Nigel Metcalfe in the doubles. For Kingsley, Metcalfe won all three singles and Stone two.
In division one, Saints beat Gayton 8-2 with Nigel Thompson scoring a maximum and Mick Allen and Mick Henderson both scoring doubles. Mick Henderson combined with Nigel Thompson to take the doubles. Gayton’s points came from David Howard.
ACC A could only field two players but were 7-3 winners over bottom-placed DCA Lions. Chris Alder and Chris Gibbs remained unbeaten on the night.
In division two, Malcolm Arnold Eagles beat ACC B 6-4 thanks to Mark Thomas winning three, Anna Wilson winning two and Roger Arterton winning one.
In reply for ACC, Peter Kent won two and Morris Freeman won one. They then teamed up to win the doubles.
Headlands Herons beat the Headlands Otis team 6-4 thanks to doubles from James Bashford, Graham Dove and Steve Bashford.
For Otis, Scott Dixon won three and then teamed up with Alan Dale to win the doubles, but it eventually proved to be too little for the side to claim a draw.
