Things will turn for us, says Dunion
Rob Dunion is certain that a much-needed win is just around the corner for Rothwell Town.
The Bones have lost all four matches they have played in the Southern League Division One Midlands this year, although Jason Turner did break their duck for goals in 2010 before Burnham grabbed a late winner at Cecil Street on Saturday.
Boss Dunion, however, is refusing to be downhearted and he is hoping his team will end their poor run of form when they entertain Northamptonshire rivals Woodford United tonight.
"I look at the situation this season and compare it to the same time last season and it shows there is no need for us to panic," he said.
"Everyone knows what has happened in the last two or three months with
players leaving and that has not helped our cause.
"But we are stabilising the club and that is very important.
"It has left us with only 11 or 12 Southern League standard players.
"That is, of course, frustrating but it's the way it has to be and it gives us a chance to bring some younger players through.
"But I am not going to sit and moan about it. A win will come for us.
"There is a job to be done and I am determined to do it."
It will be another tough ask for the Bones tonight.
After struggling in the past, Woodford are breathing down the necks of the teams in the play-off places this season and a win tonight will put them right in contention.
The Bones, on the other hand, have slipped down the table in recent weeks mainly because of postponements as well as a few defeats.
But Dunion firmly believes his team are capable of picking up a good result tonight.
"They have really pushed on this season and they have done well," Dunion said.
"But I am confident we will match them on the pitch.
"And if we do that then we will have a good chance.
"The most important thing for us right now is to try to keep as many players as possible fit."
The Bones are boosted by the return of Brett Darby but Adam Sturgess is a doubt.
"Adam has taken a couple of knocks on his knee in the last couple of games," Dunion added.
"It came to a head on Saturday when he had to come off in the second half. He is 50-50 for it."
