STEELBACKS: Willey in development squad
Steelbacks cricketer David Willey has been named in the England Performance Programme squads.
The 19-year-old will be part of the Category C group which is for 'younger players with less first-class county experience, many of whom have been part of the ECB elite player development programme'.
Willey made his debut for Northants in the opening game of this summer with just eight Second XI Championship appearances under his belt.
He became a valuable member of the side and particularly shone on the Steelbacks' march to Twenty20 Cup finals day.
His success also saw him called up to the England Under-19 side and that has led to his inclusion in the ECB plans for this winter.
