Saints through to LV= Cup final

Saints 31 Saracens 20 Saints powered into the LV= Cup final with four tries in a game littered with yellow cards.

Saints ran in four tries through Phil Dowson, Brian Mujati, Paul Diggin and Neil Best, but they were outnumbed by five yellow cards in a feisty affair.

The home side finished with 13 men and Saracens with 14, but Saints had won it by then with two tries staight after the break when Richard Skuse was in the bin proving to be decisive.

It was 14-12 to Saints at the break with Derick Hougaard kicking four penalties and missing three drop-goals while Dowson's try was added to by three penalties from Shane Geraghty.

With Skuse in the bin Saints scored through Mujati and Diggin to make it 24-12 and all but safe with 30 minutes to go.

Best added a fourth try before three cards in the last 10 minutes with Juandre Kruger and Regardt Dreyer joining Mouritz Botha in the bin, saw Justin Melck touch down for Saracens.

But it was Saints' day and they take on Gloucester in the final next Sunday at Worcester.
