Saints season-ticket sales close to 8,000

Northampton Saints have sold nearly 8,000 season tickets for the coming season.

The total is just a few hundred short of the all-time record set in 2006/07 with over two months until the Guinness Premiership campaign gets underway.

"It would be tremendous if we could set a record to mark our return to the Heineken Cup, the world's premier club competition," said Saints chief executive Allan Robson.

"Everyone at the club appreciates the commitment shown by our supporters in signing up for season tickets, especially in light of the current financial climate.

"With some big teams visiting in the Heineken Cup our supporters can play their part by turning the Gardens into a cauldron."
