Saints ace ruled out through injury
John Houston has been called into the Scotland A team to face France on Sunday after winger Joe Ansbro failed a fitness test.
Northampton Saints back Ansbro failed to overcome knee and hip injuries in time to make the IRB Nations Cup decider in Bucharest.
Houston is keen to seize his unexpected chance during the tournament decider, with Scotland ahead of France on overall points difference.
The 26-year-old said: "Rugby is all about taking opportunities when they happen.
"I wasn't picked in the original squad for the Nations Cup, but got called up when Simon Danielli was injured.
"Now I've got another chance to play and I'm really pleased. Everyone is focused on delivering a winning performance and I'm aiming to play my part in making sure that happens."
