Saints hopeful that Lamont will face Bristol
Northampton Saints are 'hopeful' Scotland international Sean Lamont will be fit for Sunday's European Challenge Cup clash at Bristol.
The winger damaged his hamstring in Scotland's opening autumn international against New Zealand last month, but has been back in training for the last week.
Forwards coach Dorian West says he is still not fully fit, but could make the trip to the Memorial Stadium.
"Monty has had that hamstring strain from the internationals and he is working really hard and hopefully he will be available for selection," said West.
"He is working really hard, but there is nothing 100 per cent. We will see how he goes in the next couple of days."
West also said South African lock Juandre Kruger, who has been registered for Europe after signing from the Blue Bulls, could also be in contention for the Bristol clash after missing the last two games because of an ankle problem.
"There is an outside chance he could play," said West. "He had an ankle injury in training and he has worked really hard to get over it. Hopefully he will be fit for selection, but we will see how that goes."
But West reported Joe Ansbro was still unavailable after dislocating his thumb.
