Palmer's Tiger triumph
Alan Palmer needed countback to claim first prize in the fourth round of the Hellidon Lakes Tiger Winter Series following a round of 33 points.
After carding one point more than Thomas Haydon, Palmer nudged ahead of Geoff Millidge, thanks to his better form over the closing holes.
Chris Marriott, who had won the previous two Tigers events, couldn't extend his winning streak as he finished well down the field with 26 points.
Paul Andrews was in excellent touch during the December stableford as he compiled a Division Two winning round of 42 points. Three points behind in second was Chris Harvey, with Danny Carty (37) third.
Division Three also witnessed a score of over 40 points as Jody Heritage finished two points ahead of Simon Keyte and Dave Hobson (both 39).
The scoring followed a similar pattern in the top section as Paul King (37) won by a couple from Gavin Aris and Paul David, who finished second and third respectively.
Nobody came close to matching the golf of James Barker, Steve Townsend, Brian Willoughby and Lynn Freshwater in the Overstone Park Hipflask Texas Scramble.
With a score of net 51.1 (gross 61), the unstoppable quartet took the plaudits by more than five strokes from runners-up Colin White, Roy Stanton, Pete Softley and Mandy Roberts.
Just 0.3 shots behind in third place were outgoing club captain Chris Hoy, Matt Evans, Mark Roberts and Gill Osborne (net 57).
