Sam on song for Thunder
BASKETBALL - Northants v Derby @ Northants Basketball Centre at Northampton School for Girls in Spinney Hill Road, Northampton.
After their loss to the Brentwood Fire second string the previous weekend, Northants Thunder made another Cadet Men Midland Conference trip to Essex last Saturday in determined mood.
They were boosted by the inclusion in their ranks of Sam Round, and secured an impressive win.
Round top-scored with 20 points, a total matched by Josh Elliott while Ross Cairns and Lewis Mooney contributed 12 and 10 points respectively. Southend Swifts 63: Northants Thunder 73

THUNDER bounced back from their potentially demoralising Under 15 Boys Midland South Conference defeat against Herts Warriors the previous weekend with a routine win against Warriors.
In the 48 points win, George Paul led all scorers with 27 points adding five steals and four assists.
Josh Round recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Andre Arissol chipped in with 17 points while Timi Grill and Karan Virdee both contributed 12 points.

THUNDER slipped to their third Under 14 Boys Midland Conference defeat of the season, going down to a skilful Leicester Dynamite team.
Dynamite ran out deserving winners despite a 15-point haul from Ed Hall while Jacob Killeya supported well with 13 points and Will Grosvenor and Ollie Thomas both contributed 10 points.

THUNDER returned from their Under 13 Boys Midland South Conference game against Stevenage Scorpions with a win under their belts and the bruises to help them remember a very physical encounter.
The key to the win was a quite amazing haul of 81 points from David Nieva and Jacob Round.
Nieva and Round were creating havoc closing with 34 and 47 point hauls respectively as they led their team to a well-deserved win.

In this Northants Under 19 Central Venue League win, Jason Moore scored an impressive 23 points. Good support came from Johnny Low who chipped in with 18 points.

Coach Grahame Yates took eight players to Peterborough for this Central Venue League game and all eight of them scored in double figures led by Johnny Low with a 25 point haul.

LIGHTNING picked up two excellent wins in their latest East of England tournament.
In the big win over Brentwood, Caitlin Stewart scored 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to record an impressive double-double. Sarah Round organised her team well and scored 15 points while Ruchae Walton had an excellent all-round game with eight points and six rebounds.
Against Norfolk, Walton completed an excellent day’s work with a 12 point 10 rebound double-double. She had good support from Abbie Hobbs and Isla Cairns who scored 12 and 10 points respectively.
