Promotion and relegation to feature in NLCGA Scratch League

Nine clubs will compete in two divisions of the NLCGA Scratch League as the ladies tournament features relegation and promotion for the first time.

Reigning champions Wellingborough begin their attempt to win the crown for a fifth successive year with a tie against Northampton on Sunday, May 26 at Kingsthorpe.

Northants County, who were the last club to clinch the title before Wellingborough, face Staverton in the other opening Division One fixture at the same venue.

With Kingsthorpe playing their first game at Wellingborough on June 23, further match days will then take place at Northampton on July 21, Staverton on August 11 and Northants County on September 22.

Starting on May 19 at Whittlebury, the new second division features the host club, Peterborough Milton, Overstone and an East Northants side comprising of players from that part of the county.

The opening fixtures see Peterborough play the home club and Overstone face East Northants, before further comps take place on June 16 and July 7 at Milton and Oundle respectively.

The leading two teams in the division will then battle it out for promotion at Overstone on August 25, while the other two sides will play a match on the same day.
