Nuneaton Town 0-2 Cobblers
Steve Guinan netted a brace as Cobblers saw off Blue Square Bet North outfit Nuneaton Town.
The experienced frontman struck twice to kill off the game and secure a win for a predominantly youthful Town side.
Guinan combined well with strike partner for the evening Courtney Herbert, who played a part in both goals.
And there were yet more pleasing signs from the likes of Alex Konstantinou and Charlie Death.
Next up for Cobblers is a clash against Birmingham City at Sixfields on Sunday (kick-off 2pm), a game in which Town boss Ian Sampson is likely to field his strongest side at some point.
