Liquorish loses battle with cancer
Local football stalwart Danny Liquorish has passed away.
Liqourish, who made over 300 appearances in the Rothwell Town goal and was more recently assistant-manager at Cogenhoe United, had been battling cancer for several months.
A real character of the local game, Liquorish had been involved with several sides around the county and was a well-known and popular figure.
Tonight's match between Cogenhoe and Wellingborough Town - where he spent a couple of seasons as goalkeeping coach - has been postponed as a mark of respect.
