Late Aldershot show denies Cobblers the points
BEN HARDING scored deep into stoppage time for Aldershot to deny the Cobblers a priceless win at the Recreation Ground.
Billy McKay scored the Cobblers' first league goal in open play to give his team the half-time advantage.
McKay slotted home after being fed by Michael Jacobs at the end of a long passing move went from flank to flank.
Marvin Morgan had earlier seen a shot saved by Chris Dunn at his near post, while Steve Guinan also drew a good stop at the other end from Jamie Young.
And although it was McKay who made the difference at the interval, it was a lead preserved by a fine covering Dean Beckwith tackle on Wade Small that preserved it.
Town continued to put their bodies on the line, and even made two blocks in the build-up to the eventual equaliser.
But Harding was first to the loose ball to rattle home with almost five minutes of stoppage time played.
