Gray looks to the transfer market for loan deals
Stuart Gray is set to dip into the loan market following Saturday's disappointing showing at MK Dons.
The Cobblers boss says he will be looking to improve every area of his side after what he called a disappointing display from back to front as Town went down 1-0 to an Aaron Wilbraham goal at stadium:MK.
And Gray revealed he has already set the wheels in motion to bring players in on loan, though he is currently playing a waiting game.
"I've got several calls in to managers regarding releasing players," said Gray.
"But unfortunately I don't think anything will happen before the transfer window shuts because they want to see what's happening with their own squads.
"But I think we will go in to the loan market after the transfer window."
And asked where he is looking to strengthen, Gray added: "Probably after Saturday every department.
"I can't fault the players for what they gave me against Cheltenham and against Millwall.
"But what they gave me on Saturday, it was a local derby, the first game against MK Dons, it is the manner in which we got beat.
"It always looked like it was going to be a 0-0 game to me and then suddenly we got done at a set-play where we've normally been strong.
"You just know there are going to be spells in the game when you are going to be put under pressure.
"But it was self-inflicted pressure because we gave the ball away far too easily, because we didn't move the ball as quickly as we have been doing.
"I don't mind getting beat if you have performed reasonably well. But on Saturday I don't think we performed well and we deserved to get beaten."
Attention now turns to Saturday's visit of Millwall, who Town beat 1-0 only a week ago at the New Den in the Carling cup.
And the manager says he wants his side to make Sixfields a place to be feared for travelling sides.
He added: "We have got to bounce back and regroup and get ready for the Millwall game.
"We have got to make Sixfields a fortress but we have also got to pick points up on our travels, even if it means winning ugly and digging in."
