It’s Green’s day as he seals Cold Ashby win

Cold Ashby: Teenager Brad Green carded gross eagles on the first, 11th and 17th holes in a remarkable round of 41 points in the January White Tee Stableford.

The three-handicapper’s score was still only good enough for fifth place however as several other players took full advantage of the shorter course.

Karl Byron snatched the top prize as a tally of 43 points lifted him ahead of Geoff Newman, Chris Allen (both 42) and David Shield (41).

An excellent start and a good finish made all the difference in the January Mid-week Stableford as David Peak (41 points) finished three ahead of Selwyn Lloyd.

Whittlebury

Countback was needed in the seventh round of the Bruton Plate Winter League after two pairings carded the equal best mark of 45 points.

Round seven of the Ladies Winter League witnessed a surprise winner as Danielle Edwards and Juliette Parish topped the George Blues Trophy standings with 35 points.

Brampton Heath

Eight-year-old Max Faulkner had a memorable round on the Academy Course as he bagged a hole-in-one at the second hole.
