Get behind us says Bones boss Dunion

Rothwell Town boss Rob Dunion has pleaded with the fans to get behind his team.

The Bones are on the ropes in the BGB Southern League Division One Midlands relegation battle and desperately need to land a punch.

After suffering last-gasp agony at leaders Leamington – a result compounded by Barton Rovers' equally late winner at Aylesbury United and Woodford United's win at Bromsgrove Rovers – they are now only three points above the relegation places.

And they're unlikely to get any favours tonight from a Leighton Town side harbouring faint hopes of the play-offs with games in hand.

Dunion said: "If people are serious about wanting this club to stay up then they've got to get off their backsides and come and support us.

"We have to get more people through the gate. Leamington had over 600 there at the weekend and they really are like a 12th man. I think they sucked that ball over the line at the end.

"To be honest, I was as dejected as I've ever been in a dressing- room after Saturday but perhaps we can turn that negative into a positive.

"I could see how the players felt and I stressed to them that that would be how they would feel at the end of the season if

we didn't stay up.

"It wasn't a nice feeling so that makes us all the more determined to survive.

"The other results at the weekend were bad but with four of our final six games at home, it's in our hands.

"It was a performance and a half from the team at the

weekend and if we can produce that again tonight, we won't go far wrong.

"But we need the backing of the Rothwell people. We need their support."
