Alan McCormack and Jordan Turnbull have posted goodbye messages to Cobblers supporters after they were released by the club on Thursday.

Turnbull, 25, was arguably the most surprising name featured on Keith Curle's released list following an excellent season in Town's formidable back three.

But the former Coventry man will depart after 94 appearances and five goals in two and a half years at Sixfields.

Turnbull posted on Twitter: "Massive thank you to everyone @ntfc and most importantly the fans for always supporting me.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and I feel very proud to be part of this group of lads winning promotion finally, I want to wish the club every success in the future."

McCormack, meanwhile, made a big impression during his 12 months at the Cobblers and was instrumental in their recent play-off success.
