Louis Appéré struck the decisive blow midway through the first-half as chances came and went for the dominant hosts. Failure to add a second goal made for some nervy moments late on but Town defended well to keep a sixth clean sheet in their last seven outings at Sixfields. 5. Ryan Haynes
A good effort to play as many minutes as he has done this week given his lack of football in the last few months. Stood up one teasing cross that nearly ended in a goal and wasn't put under too much pressure defensively... 7 Photo: Pete Norton
6. Jack Sowerby
One of the standouts for Cobblers. Barely misplaced a pass and connected so much of the play in the first-half. Read danger and intercepted it in a more scrappy second 45. Made a vital block in stoppage-time. He's also developed a taste for shooting after that wonder strike against Crawley; let fly with three terrific efforts in total here, all from range and all needing to be well saved... 8 Photo: Pete Norton
7. Marc Leonard
It's been repeated many times but he's just a class act in the middle of the park, both on and off the ball. Won tackles, made interceptions and picked out some lovely passes. The current midfield trio look such an effective combination... 8 Photo: Pete Norton
8. Will Hondermarck
Was always going to be hard to replicate his performance from midweek but he still enjoyed a good game. His driving runs are so hard to pick up and can transform mundane midfield play into a sudden attacking threat. Really should have scored though, with three decent chances falling his way... 7.5 Photo: Pete Norton
