NENE SUNDAY LEAGUE: Rangers rally to see off Monks Park in Shield

Playing Monks Park WMC, Rangers were 4-2 down at half-time and struggling, but a second-half fightback saw them triumph 6-4.

On target were Chris Running, Daniel Kirkton, Nick Floyer, Mitchel Smith and two from Jordan Tombling Pert.

NFA Sunday Vase

Dallington Falcons eased into the quarter-finals with a 6-0 win over Bat & Wickets Reserves thanks to goals from Alfie Malin, Alexis Mbayo, Lee Sargisson, Daniel Lowe and Aaron Higgs (2).

Hartwell Forest also progressed as they saw off Ashby Athletic 3-0 with goals from Michael Winch, Lewis Blake and Marc Thorp.

Pitsford Rangers enjoyed a 5-0 win at Royals Reserves with Chris Andrews and Liam Dodd both scoring twice, while Albany Athletic are also in the last eight after a 3-2 win against Swan & Helmet.

Albany went 2-0 up through Jason Locke and Perry Whitney, before Swan levelled it through Adrian Fallen and Matthew Derrig.

It looked like the game was heading for a draw, but Reece Bosworth netted a last-minute winner.

Jameeah FC are out after they went down 1-0 to Spinney Hill FC.

NTFA Teamwear Trophy

The all-Nene Sunday League tie between Parklands Phoenix and Abington went the way of Phoenix who won 4-3.

Samir Abarak was their hat-trick hero, with the fourth coming from Alex Godbolt, while Abington’s scorers were Thulane Khoza and Calvin Budd (2).

Jack Wright rattled in four goals for Wootton Fields Wanderers to steer them to a 4-1 win against Manfield Rangers, but Halse United went down 6-4 to AFC Hackleton, having been 5-0 down at the break.

On target for Halse were Neil Fotheringham, Adam Hilton, Dean Ingram and Phill Spindlove.

Grendon Sapphires drew 0-0 with Billing United and then lost the penalty shootout 3-2, while AFC Obelisk are out after a 2-1 defeat at Northampton Hotspur.

Ben Smeeton was Obelisk’s scorer.

League Two

Oakley Diamonds are the new leaders following a 3-1 win at Spring Park.

Aaron Rolfe and Marc Hall gave the Diamonds a 2-0 lead before Carl White pulled one back, but Hall sealed the win with his second.

Billy Torpey and Leo Pinto both scored twice and James Chapman once to give Sixfields Rangers Reserves a 5-1 win against White Elephant, Neil Leggett replying.

JA Global are up to fourth spot after a 4-2 home win against West Haddon Albion thanks to doubles from Scott Ramsay and Lawrence Bulliman.

Haddon’s scorers were Curtis Lindemann and Martin Russ.

Real Roochers handed out a 9-0 hammering to Abington Stanley.

There were doubles for Joe Corkram, David Warren and Wesley Lothian, and one apiece for Andrew Hayward, Nathan Perry and Kane Sangster.

Nomads of Barratts beat Mill Park 7-3, with Calum Hope scoring four and Will Allen twice.

Lewis Savage completed the scoring for Nomads, while Dean Carter-Mould and two from Reiss Mothersille accounted for the Mill Park goals.

Premier Division

Queens Park fell behind to a Antony Bell goal for AFC Brampton, however the home side struck back with doubles from Dean Hall and Courtney Brown along with further goals by Jonny Shakespeare, Fabian Brown, an own goal and Eddy Kingston to win the match 8-1.

The win sees Queens Park remain top of the table.

Houghton Magna are in second place following a 6-0 win at Denton FC.

Goals came from Greg Crane, Shane Ranft, Nick Ling, Tommy White, Chris Dickens and Sam Dengel.

Norteles FC have moved up to third after a close 3-2 victory over Welland Valley Panthers.

Josh Barby scored twice for the Panthers, but goals from Sebastian Thompson, Chris Doran and Jake Grant gave Norteles the three points.

Championship

AFC Trinity have moved four points clear at the top following a comfortable 5-0 win against Bat & Wickets.

Daniel Smith led the way with a hat-trick for Trinity, while Adam Lett and Steve Warner also found the back of the net for the home side.

The only other game in this division saw Spartak FC come away with the points after a 4-1 win at Kettering Ise Lodge.

Ashley Inwood and Jimmy Moore gave Spartak a 2-0 half time lead and the visitors then added two more goals with another strike by Jimmy Moore and a goal from Adam Norton.

Ted Boddington pulled a goal back for the Kettering side, but Spartak had done enough to take the points.
