Dunion needs to boost his numbers
Rothwell Town boss Rob Dunion admits he may have to scour the lower leagues for players to ensure he has the numbers to cope with the Bones' impending fixture backlog in the Zamaretto League.
With only 17 league games played, the Bones are not even halfway through their programme yet.
And as the current freezing weather forces more posponements, the prospect of two games a week looks ever more likely between now and the end of the season.
And that menas Dunion will have to stretch the club's resources even more to add to the playing pool.
"We've no choice really, we need the players to cover all the games," said Dunion.
"With so many games now likely to be coming up in such a short space of time, if someone is injured, there will be no time to get them fit before the next game.
"The thing is, everyone else is probably looking for extra players now and it means we may not be able to get them all from Southern League level clubs.
"It may be a case that we have to set the bar lower than we wanted and look for players from lower levels, such as the UCL, who can step up.
"I'm looking for squad players essentially, rather than any specific positions but players these days seem to be able to play in several different areas anyway."
