Cobblers latest news

THE COBBLERS have terminated the contracts of left-back Paul Walker and goalkeeper Paul Walker.

Following on the from today’s announcement of the signing on loan of defender Clarke Carlisle from Burnley, manager Aidy Boothroyd has decided to trim the numbers in his squad.

“It is right for both lads to move on,” said Boothroyd, who at the weekend released teenage Austrian duo Lumbardh Salihu and Marin Pozgain.

“They are both good lads, but they need to be playing regular football. I wish them both well and thank them for their efforts.”

Former Middlesbrough trainee Corker was signed in the summer by previous boss Gary Johnson, and made 11 starts and seven susbtitute appearances for the Cobblers.

Walker came through the youth system at Sixfields, and played for Wales at Under-17 level. He made just one senior appearance for the Cobblers, coming on as a susbtitute in a the 2-2 draw at Stockport County in April.

I don't think we are in a position to be fair - in with the new and out with those that aren't good enough. Mind you we are still carrying too much dead wood and hopefully a few more will go and a few more will come in. No news on Chris Hackett yet or Dele Adebola?

I do hope these lad's names were circulated before today. A bit unfair if they weren't.
