The future’s bright, the future’s pink... at least it is as far as the Cobblers’ new away kit is concerned.

The club have revealed their new look for the new season, and as well as a traditional home claret shirt, the Cobblers will be wearing bright pink on the road - and it’s all to raise funds for charity.

The club have partnered with the CoppaFeel breast cancer charity, with 10 per cent of all sales of the new away kit going to them.

Season ticket holders and members will still be able claim their usual discount from the new home shirt, but the discount won’t apply to the away kit, the 10 per cent instead going to charity.

A club statement read: “CoppaFeel exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their boobs isn’t only fun, it could save their life.

“They are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life.”

“We wanted to expand our charity work and we know that breast cancer affects many, many people,” said Cobblers chief executive James Whiting.

“CoppaFeel has local links, and we hope that by raising both money and awareness of the charity it could help save lives both in this area and beyond.”

The kits will also carry the logos of the University of Northampton on the front and Opus Energy on the back, and the last season’s yellow and black away kit will be kept on as an emergency third kit option, but will only be worn if both of the home and away shirts clash with opponents.

The home kit is a shadow-striped claret shirt with a flash of white on the v-neck collar, with white shorts with claret trimming, and claret socks with a white top.

The away kit is pink, with shadow hoops, and black sides and cuffs, and a pink flash on a black v-neck collar. The away shorts are black with pink flashes, and the socks black.

If you’re an adult and want to get your hands on one of the new strips, then you won’t have to wait long as they go on sale from 10am on Friday from the club shop, and then online later in the day.

Junior sizes are not yet in stock, but the club will keep supporters updated of when they are due to arrive.

The club shop has also extended opening hours this weekend, and will be open from 9am to noon on Saturday.
