The Town manager has added three players to his squad in the past 10 days, with winger Alfie Potter, attacking midfielder Nicky Adams and left-back David Buchanan all being snapped up.

All three are proven performers and experienced campaigners, especially Adams and Buchanan who have both played around 400 senior games despite still being 28 and 29 respectively.

And Wilder has promised the Cobblers supporters that the quality players will keep on coming in as he continues to rebuild his squad for the new season.

Asked if and when more new signings will be announced, Wilder said: “We are down the line with goalkeepers, and we are down the line with another central defender.

“We already have a decent core of players under contract and we have added what I think are three quality signings that we have started our recruitment with.

“We said at the end of the season that we had to get our recruitment spot on.

“We took our time with David Buchanan, and we will with all of them because they have to be right.

“Things are going along nicely, the group is forming and developing, which I couldn’t be happier about.”
