Ex-Cobblers defender released by Gunners
Former Northampton Town youngster Anton Blackwood has been released by Arsenal.
The versatile defender moved to the Emirates from Sixfields last summer and played for Steve Bould's under-18 team.
But he was one of eight players released by the Gunners today, having been unable to make an impact in the reserve team last season.
Amaury Bischoff, James Dunne, Rui Fonte, Abu Ogogo, Paul Rodgers, Rene Steer and Vincent van den Berg are the others to be told they are leaving the Gunners.
