Eight-point victory for glorious Gilder

Lorraine Gilder comfortably had the best score in the Northampton GC December ladies stableford as the 11-handicapper carded 34 points over 15 holes.

Gilder finished eight ahead of Vera White in the first division, with Carol Osborne (25) beating Jeannie Craddock to third place on countback.

The top prize in the second section went to Judy Keates with 26 points – one clear of Carol Page.

Although the points totals weren't as high in the third category it made for an interesting battle to be crowned champion.

That honour eventually went to Jo Plank on countback from Sandra Hancock, with June Prosser and Sylvia Trout only one point behind in third and fourth.
