Cobblers players quiet on play-offs

Abdul Osman has revealed that there has been no serious talk about the Coca-Cola League Two play-offs among the Cobblers players.

And while the in-form midfielder said the topic has not been banned by the management team, he did say the current squad were only using it as a source of dressing-room 'banter' at the present time.

Town are only three points off the top seven and could be in it on Saturday night if they defeat bottom-markers Darlington at Sixfields and Shrewsbury Town lose at home to leaders Rochdale.

But despite being tantalisingly close, Osman says the players have not yet broached the subject of extending their season.

"We're not thinking about the play-offs but we are thinking that anything is possible now," he said. "All we can do is just keep ticking over.

"Nobody in the dressing room is talking about the play-offs. A few of the lads are using it as banter, but it's no more than that at the moment.

"It hasn't been banned or anything, we're just not really talking about it. We've got to just take it a game at a time."
