Cobblers 3-3 Watford

Tadhg Purcell scored his first goal in Cobblers colours as Town claimed a thrilling 3-3 draw against Watford at Sixfields.

Striker Purcell put his side 3-1 up on 40 minutes after excellent youngster Michael Jacobs struck twice early on and Danny Graham reduced arrears for the away side.

Cobblers could have been out of sight by the time Graham hit his second of the afternoon and they were made to pay as Marvin Sordell's effort gave Watford a draw.

Right-back John Johnson, who enjoyed a loan spell with Cobblers last season, made his first appearance since joining on a permanent basis from Middlesbrough.

Attendance: 1,722 (525 away fans)
