Friday also saw Tom Smith's final competitive game at the Gardens.
After being shoulder-carried round the pitch 'Wee Tam' took time out to try and personally thank and shake the hand of everybody who had lined up at pitchside.
For all I know, given the numbers that were queuing, he might still be there now!
But I hope he's well rested for Saturday's testimonial game at the Gardens.
Yes he's not finished with the hallowed turf yet as his Saints Legends XV take on a World & Lions XV in his honour.
There will be some familiar faces returning to the Gardens to play for Saints, while the World side includes some of the great and good of the game and Austin Healey.
It could be a very entertaining afternoon.
On the following Friday Paul Flatt and Phil Hollis have organised one of their very entertaining quiz nights at the Gardens as part of Tom's testimonial year.
They have presented a few of these quizzes over the years for various causes connected to the club, and they are always good nights out.
