Chris Ashton to make debut as England make big changes

Chris Ashton will make his England debut in their Six Nations clash with France in Paris on Saturday night.

Ashton joins fellow Northampton Saints aces Ben Foden and Dylan Hartley in the starting line-up as England bid to stop France from winning the Grand Slam.

Ashton, the leading try scorer in the Guinness Premiership this season, takes over from the injured Ugo Monye.

The Wigan flyer has scored 12 tries in his 14 Premiership appearances and 19 in 25 games for his club.

He was elevated to the England Elite Player Squad in January was also the joint leading scorer with Tommy Bowe in the Heineken Cup.

Foden makes his first start at full-back, while Toby Flood has been picked over Jonny Wilkinson at fly-half.

Replacements: 16 Steve Thompson, 17 Daivd Wilson, 18 Louis Deacon, 19 James Haskell, 20 Ben Youngs, 21 Jonny Wilkinson, 22 Mathew Tait.
