Bugbrooke rocked by tragedy
Bugbrooke secured an excellent victory at Deepings before the team's celebrations were cut short by the death of loyal supporter Ken Taylor.
The former Northampton Saints player, 71, who travelled to every game with the Bugbrooke team, passed away on Saturday night. He will be missed greatly by all at the club.
Earlier in the day, Bugbrooke got the journey out of their legs early and started the game strongly.
Dominating play throughout the field, the Bugbrooke pack won quick ball to spread wide down the ever-threatening Bugbrooke backline .
Bugbrooke went in at half-time winning 15-0 but then several quick injuries saw Bugbrooke lose Terry Painter with a dislocated shoulder, and Rob Pardon with a twisted knee.
This left the makeshift Bugbrooke side to defend the rest of the game scoring only one try in the second half and allowing Deepings to cross the try line once.
Bugbrooke's scorers were Simon Garnet with two tries and Tom Wood with one, Matt McLean with a single penalty and conversion .
Bugbrooke IIs continued their winning ways as they saw off a strong Stockwood Park IIs 26-3.
Tries for Bugbrooke came from Chris Hawkins, Seb, Tim Curtis and John Winger. Curtis kicked three conversions.
