Bruce: This side is the best yet
Loyal servant Bruce Reihana says this is the best Saints side he has played in as he prepares for his 200th game for the club.
After eight years at the club Reihana last week signed a new deal with Saints for another season with the option of a second.
And after enduring some pretty big lows at Franklin's Gardens, like relegation, Reihana is keen to be around for the good times that he now feels are just round the corner.
Under Jim Mallinder Saints have won a trophy every season and are fighting on three fronts going into the final stretch of this campaign.
Reihana said: "This is the best side we have had at the club since I have been here, with the best management as well. The club is going forward, which is exciting after a lot of ups and downs.
"Jim has come in and turned this club round and got the right players to come here. Now we have an awesome squad and everybody is pushing for the right reasons.
"I have always said I wanted to retire at this club. I have been through a lot of ups and downs here and I have said I want to be a part of this club, getting back to where it should be.
"I have stayed so far, and now we are on the way up there is no way I am leaving. I have been a part of this team to get where we are and I want to be a part of it in the future."
Reihana made his Saints debut against Leicester and he will rack-up his 200th appearance in the green, black and gold against the Tigers in the LV= Cup on Saturday.
In his eight years at Franklin's Gardens Reihana has played under five different directors of rugby, but feels Mallinder is the best and that is down to an honesty and high work ethic he has installed at the club.
"What marks Jim out is just being straight up and honest," said the 33-year-old. "Jim knows what he wants from us, he makes the decisions and that's it. There is no beating around the bush, everyone knows where they are at and that is how it should be."
