WARNING SHOT - Cobblers boss Chris Wilder knows he and his players have achieved nothing yet

Chris Wilder will remind his Cobblers squad that they have achieved nothing yet and that they must maintain their recent good form for the remainder of the season.

Town head to second-placed Scunthorpe United this weekend having picked up seven points from their past three matches.

Such a run has led to increase in positivity at Sixfields but while Wilder is delighted the fans are happy, he does not want his players to be celebrating anything until May 3.

“We had a good week, we put in three solid performances and the trick is now to keep that going,” said Wilder.

“The players can be delighted with their efforts but we’ve reminded them that they haven’t achieved anything yet.

“We’ve got ourselves three decent results but we have to keep going and we have to keep the hammer down.
“I’ve got enough experience in that dressing room to drive that on.

“We’ll keep reminding them but when you’re managing the kind of players we’ve got, they know not to get carried away.

“It was a good week all round and hopefully we’ve given everyone the belief that we will turn the position around.”

Maintaining the focus, Wilder feels, will not be an issue to his squad, especially as it contains several highly-experienced senior professionals.

“We don’t have to do a lot with the players because they are experienced and they all have good attitudes in terms of how they go about their business,” he said.

“It’s more about little reminders.

“There is still a quarter of the season and there’s still going to be a lot of hard work.

“There will be times when we don’t get the results we deserve but we are on an upward curve, we’ve shown we can compete and we’ve shown we can beat decent teams.”
