Bones get no reward again
Rothwell Town fell to their fifth successive defeat with this latest loss in BGB Southern League Division One Midlands.
But the Bones left Church Street feeling a real sense of injustice as they out-played the high-flying Scholars for much of the time but got no reward.
Chasetown were well on top early on but Rothwell weathered the storm and began to apply pressure of their own with no success.
However on 22 minutes, they were caught out by a free-kick as the defence allowed the ball to bounce and Dean Perrow skipped through to score.
The Bones responded well and on 31 minutes, Fazel Koriya brought a fine save from home keeper Ryan Price who was to prove a thorn in Rothwell sides.
However, he also needed luck, none more so than on 41 minutes when he appeared to take out Koriya in the box. But the referee instead booked the Bones winger for diving.
Three minutes after half-time, Robbie Maddox broke through on the right but shot wide and Shaun Goodall was also off target soon after.
However, it seemed if any side was going to score, it was going to be Rothwell.
But on 67 minutes, Perrow landed a killer blow against the run of play for the Scholars when he stabbed home their second from close range.
Still Rothwell pressed with Kevin Byrne going close soon after Perrow's goal.
But Price was to again prove an insurmountable barrier as he saved well from both Michael Boyle-Chong and Maddox in the final 10 minutes.
