Wakely in England squads despite injury scare

Northamptonshire youngster Alex Wakely has been named in the England under-19 one-day and Test squads despite the injury that threatens his place.
But Jack Manuel has been included in the squad for their two-Test series against New Zealand as cover for Wakely, who is doubtful with a hand injury.

Stuart Meaker, who already has U19 experience, has also been called up as a replacement for Ben S
anderson who has a broken finger. Sanderson will be reassessed before the second Test.

The two-match series begins in Taunton on Saturday with the second game starting on August 1 at New Road, Worcester.

The selectors also announced a 14-man squad for the ODI series which follows, and included Hamza Ramiuddin of Hampshire and James Harris of Glamorgan.

The one-dayers kick off with back-to-back matches in Canterbury on August 8 and 9 before heading further south to Hove for a floodlit match on August 11.

The tour will finish at Northampton with two televised live games on August 14 and 15.
